I dont agree with progressive tax schemes because they primarily affect upper echalon wage workers. A sensible flat tax that fairly assesses ALL avenues of income with child tax credits, and earned income tax credits for the lower rung would be ideal. The govnerment isnt a very good proprietor of wealth.

If they were to rake in an additional 20% in tax income year over year, the people wouldnt see a dime, they would just budget for 20% increased inefficient spend.

I want tax just enough so we can reliably regulate what needs regulation. Pre existing conditions. Nukes. Oil spills. Illegal immigration.

Otherwise we waste a ton of money trying to enforce abortion regulations and drug laws and protect pharmaceutical companies from competition and trying to police multimedia etc.
