Again, that document doesn't mean shit.

it was two acquisitions ago, that document daybreak signed won't protect p99 if Enad Global 7 decided today to shut the project down by sending letters that cost elf lawyer bucks, it's a publicly traded company in Helsinki, all a shareholder has to do is raise concerns about this place as a loss of revenue and it's in the companies legally binding fiduciary responsibility to stop the ip theft, people worried about post velious and custom when they should be worried about losing access to playing for free at all.

Love when non-lawyers try to tell me (who is a lawyer) what a contract does and doesn't mean lol. In particular, I'm an attorney who has dealt with tons of corporate transactions, from IP sales to mergers and acquisitions.

I've said this to other people on these forums (possibly you, since your new ban evasion account has a writing style/cadence that's very similar to someone else I've had this discussion with who I believe got banned). Contracts have language in them that says the terms are binding on successors and assigns, including unaffiliated successors/assigns. So when Daybreak sold the IP, the purchaser would've been made aware of the contract during the sale transaction and that it would be bound by the terms. As a result, if they tried to just revoke the contract for no reason, P99 would almost certainly be able to win a case claiming promissory estoppel, breach of contract, etc. Like...you wouldn't even get past the initial motion to dismiss stage. It would be tossed out and P99 would win.

So yeah the contract does mean shit. And it's why P99 wouldn't go and, say, add PoP to the server. Because then the current IP holder could claim breach of contract and revoke the deal.

In an elder day, playing the lawyer card would get you laughed out of IRC.

Doesn't the concept of shares or owning shares go back to piracy anyway?

The quartermaster gets an extra 1/4 share of the plunder.

They're still patching shit that's not classic to this day. I don't think you guys realize how much of a colossal effort it would be to make an era accurate luclin/POP when a lot of you doubt their heart is still into p99 at all.

I'm not against it, I just don't think it is happening even if the agreement let them. Hell we're not even sure we're ever getting a new velious server even if they already have that part figured out.

i'll give him the benefit of the doubt, he prolly wouldn't of been unable to figure out how to turn off a cat filter in zoom during covid like that one lawyer

but i'm eagerly awaiting his ChatGPT slop about international IP laws in the euro zone.
