I like America for the same reason that I like Rome; citizenship went beyond ethnicity and religion, which is rare in human history. Even in modern Asian states like Taiwan and Japan, that isn’t the case. We are very unique

Sadly, the ideology of the citizen-farmer-soldier is usually predicated on militarism, which leads to victims, slaves, etc. the native Americans and Gauls were already doing the same thing to one another, of course, but the idea of permanent conquest, and especially genocide, is obviously uncomfortable because it’s definitely fucked up. It’s absurd to pretend we’d know how it would play out otherwise, however, so we should look to the fact that at the very least, places that do have an ideology that allows for assimilation should be valued. I especially value it because, as ive oft repeated, I was treated worse in Iran than in Texas. That’s a very rare thing in all of human history: toleration.

Anyway, the weakness of this applying to Israel is that it is an ethnostate that absolutely doesn’t want Palestinians to take over the Jewish voting population in terms of demographics.

Also worth mentioning that Yasser Arafat trained iranian revolutionaries in the 1970s and was the first leader to visit Khomeini in Iran. The Palestinians have had a dog shit ideology themselves for a long time. As I said, this conflict won’t end in any way other than the Israelis winning through force. These two sides have absolutely no desire or incentive to live in peace, they are both ideological in the extreme and so it will play out the way it does in most human conflicts.

So uncomfortable in fact that not only do you live here but also live in a state where air conditioning is a basic requirement. I would also like to remind you that #kidsincages also have hvac but also bars on the windows and locks on the cages.
