If everyone RMT'd I'd be inclined to agree. The sheer amount of salt in this 1 thread is testament that not everyone RMTs.

Both sides understand each other; it's just that no one is going to be convinced.

The people arguing for Nordenwatch aren't going to be convinced, and the people arguing otherwise aren't going to budge. At the end of the day he made a dick move; there's nothing that can really done about it that hasn't been done. The temptation he faced seeing $20K is certainly understandable, but it still makes him an ass to cash out. The only currency left to traffic in here is respect, and it obviously doesn't mean a whole lot to some of the people here.

I do find it interesting the lengths Nordenwatch is going through to justify his actions to the rest of us despite having no stake left here.

How does RMT increase demand? If the platinum wasn't RMTd are you suggesting that it'd somehow leave the economy?

I know nothing about economics, but isn't inflation due to the fact that we've been sitting on the same fucking expansion for years while platinum is constantly coming into the system?

As far as I know, the server only exists as long as it's free to play, lest it be shut down by Sony. So the clear victims here are a) the giant amount of staff time wasted instead of say, working on Velious and b) possibly the entire server being shut down by asshat lawyers.

As long as the staff's official policy continues to be that RMT is against the server rules they won't have any Sony banhammer coming down. Considering that Sony is WELL AWARE of the existence of the server and therefore obviously aware of the rampant RMT that does occur (see platlord) there is no risk of this happening. Its a weak argument at best.

SoE cant stop p99 simply because it is not trademarked material; EQ live has been completely revamped several times and no longer offers the content p99 offers. two completely different things w/e they are called.
