Good lord. I must have killed 6 frenzied pox scarabs in the time it took me to finally see the ostiary pop. But it was a good experience overall, since I learned my way around most of upper seb and got some nice gem drops off bugs outside of disco + the pox scarabs and killed my first summoners (I didn't even realize the bugs outside could be 51+ until I had a charm break on one of them).

But still, I was thrilled when I took this screenshot: http://s14.postimage.org/w8l62rald/EQ000051.png

After clicking off the cleric buffs I had from Emms rezzing me earlier (I think I probably hatted out of seb 6-7 times in the course of my time looking for ostiary, and died twice... once stunned when low so I couldn't click and once cause I refused to hat and trying to land a stun on a hasted pet + frenzied pox scarab was too much for me), I rooted and petted a dar in the room that Catherin had given weapons to yesterday. I carefully watched out the door with a few angles to make sure that none of the 3 pathers outside were going to proxy aggro when I brought ostiary, lulled the other frog there and pull him in with tash.

Pet got on him right away. Until I chatted with Catherin yesterday, I never had given a pet weapons and I tried not to haste unless absolutely necessary, figuring it would improve my chances of surviving a poorly-timed charm break. But it's fun having a pet that does 100+ dps... lol. After an early root break and repositioning, ostiary was under half in no time: http://s10.postimage.org/e2l5h8g3t/EQ000053.png

Is the fact that my defense still not maxed a good thing or a bad thing? Lol.

Loot: http://s9.postimage.org/nyh6js2pb/EQ000054.png

I don't think I would finish all of disciple before 58, so I'm probably going to at least go xp to make 57 before I start working on it at all.

editted my list, nothing remarkable just filling out missed targets, i think the black reaver will end up being the only one i cant really figure out before god-mode kills. just doesnt seem like there is anything i can charm that will really stand up to them without using a ton of overpowered clickies

you can do it!

there are a few spawns that con dark blue at lvl 60, i'd try those first. you'll have to give them weapons, haste, and other buffs, but chain bedlam just might be enough for one reaver.

if not, theres that enc epic turn in mob or whatever that can spawn up top. rare spawn, but hes right near a reaver and he should make a great pet, imo. not sure if there are any spells you can land on a reaver unfortunately.

Side note: solo'd Advisor in Kith (55 cleric). not too bad a mob. its very handy that he doesn't try to complete heal, but just spot heals himself below 40%. He is completely MR, which sucks, but I can burn him down with fire to help get past the heals. Was a fun with with strings.

I'm fairly confident that enc+cleric could easily duo General. It should be possible by anyone with strings, though might take some luck with charm breaks. I'd try it if it wasn't difficult to spawn him without a rogue alt/main.

Also still dying to try and duo sky island two (protector of sky) with a shaman, both dru/shaman and monk/shaman. I feel like he'd be easier than Koro by a long shot. I should be more proactive about this :P

Last night I had just worked my way into east and killed the PH in what Loraen calls "the east nook" before getting summoned to do some other things. This morning I figured I'd head into east to see if I had managed to pop a named, and it turns out I had!

Getting into east this morning wasn't ugly, but it wasn't pretty either. South had half a dozen pathing biles and feasters up, including one pathing into and out of the room with the east key in it, so I set up over by my usual south killing spot to clear out a few living mobs. I actually hatted once in this process, cause when I ivu pulled a bile it came with 2 feaster buddies that I hadn't expected and stuns were getting interrupted... and I hadn't killed the bile up near entrance yet and I didn't much care for trying to sneak past him with no gear and no rune 5.

But after getting back, I did clear them out and get the key and head for east. Someone popped 3 living mobs in the portal room just past the door from south -> east, which is odd, since ... I just don't even know. But they were easy enough to dodge by careful positioning and switching from ivu to invis and then back to ivu once I was past them.

I saw the RP up in the nook, and the level 51 helot I had cleared the PH with last night, with my torch still in hand, in the long hallway there. I went and dazzled my former pet and kept him mezzed while I ensured all my buffs were fresh + hasted him: http://postimage.org/image/xjs6v3c3l/

Then, when I was back up to full mana, I used ivu and went to wait for conditions to be just right to pull RP. I had to run back to re-mez pet once or twice before the timing worked out, but then it did and I raptured RP by himself and IVUd quickly back over to my pet: http://postimage.org/image/5sop08b2x/

Unfortunately my plan for pulling him was based on him being a shadowknight like the sheet says he is. I expected I would lose bedlam and rune to the HT + round or two of melee he'd get off before I landed rapture, and I expected he would sling disease cloud and heat blood and crap at me in my hallway, which would drop my ivu earlier than I wanted because I didn't have any runes up anymore. When he didn't HT me I thought "wtf?" but didn't have time, in the moment, to consider that maybe he wasn't actually a SK, or think to change my initial plans. When I tried to LoS him in my hallway though, I aggrod 2 living mobs from a room back there just as my pet needed a remez... so I hatted.

So yeah. He's not a SK. He's a warrior.

After I recharged and went back in with a simpler plan for the pull, I repeated my steps from earlier sans the live-clearing in south and got this: http://postimage.org/image/cm8ztpv5t/

I juggled my pet and the RP for a tad while I debuffed him and recharmed my pet. Because of using 2 raptures on RP before I tashed him and could safely switch to cheap mezzes, I started the real fight with only 1/4 mana: http://postimage.org/image/6iwh6xb7l/

Fortunately charm held well (like Loraen has told me a couple times, east fights aren't bad in and of themselves when you've got the right pet), and I think that while my pet's constant lifetaps broke root, they also served to build a lot of aggro on RP so that I didn't even get summoned when a fetter faded at like 75%. SS of him approaching re-death: http://postimage.org/image/5251gms4n/

Enchanters have more fun! Especially blonde gnomes. I wonder why only the male gnomes have white hair.

It wasn't me! Also my guess is that you can actually split quite a bit by zoning to clear aggro. Like at NG wait for the krup roamer to leave and then root two in the tunnel and 1 by the bridge, then camp out invis. Or snare, run away with a ring of shadows, then camp out/gate back, hope the named is solo etc. Unfortunately I am not sure a wizard has the mana to burn down a 51+ named . . . 3k mana @ 4:1 is 12k damage which is kinda borderline and you might end up having to skin yourself . . . so you just need 3-4 corpses with conflag wands [You must be logged in to view images. The wiki claims disintegrate goes up to 52 but that must be a bug.

Ah that's my fault. He was originally classed as a warrior, but I fought him maybe a year ago (unsuccessfully) and he harmtouched me. When I killed him a few months ago I realized he wasn't casting but I was too lazy to change it back. Also for the uninitiated the 'east nook' is #12 on the wiki map. Necrious first showed me back in the day when he could run around impudently with his VP gained VS faction.

I also had to bring a shiverback with me, so going right for SE corner wasn't as much of an option, (and i was also there to kill gorgons for my tunic)
Part of my problem is Svenn left horrible directions! The scareling tower is more south than east and I thought he was talking about the yellow pillar. Finally I said fuck it, I like the more southerly approach anyway and I was actually in this area near the end but I was emotionally a bit spent after 6 hours babysitting a charmed pet. I was ivu pulling toads through the gap between the boogey house which is how I got my gorgons and so on. Next time I think I'm going to clear out some space in that area and then give my pet some rogue snare daggers so I can fearkite those stupid toads. But I need a week or two to recover [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Man, I love killing these living mobs in HS. Makes the pulls so much less stressful when I can just run up next to them for a second, then straferun away without getting hit, rapture (or tash+stun+mez maybe if I'm feeling like it!), and get things rolling! Even though it eats up a lot of bedlams and runes getting them mezzed once I get them next to my pet-to-be, it sure is better than trying to time pathers or lull 3+ mobs.

And that's exactly what I did to start this one off: http://s15.postimg.org/4bijkbfp7/EQ000472.png

The named was down to 75% or so already by the time he decided to stay rooted and I slowed him, and here I am reapplying bedlam and rune before taking a seat to enjoy the show: http://s12.postimg.org/rs9fskdyl/EQ000476.png

With named down under 20% though, fetter and charm wore off just about simultaneously. A quick stun buys me a bit of time to get things under control again: http://s12.postimg.org/6di281qct/EQ000480.png

... except that these damn living mobs, while easy to pull, have an annoying habit of running away from my rooted pet. And I don't think that he would have summoned the named as it fled... although I can't remember how that works for certain cause I don't have 51 pets very often, and I didn't give him the chance anyways. I quickly ae mezzed, rerooted named and pet, recharmed pet, and single-target mezzed the feaster so pet would have time to engage him and keep me from getting summoned: http://s21.postimg.org/wds4y3vwn/EQ000482.png

That finished him off. Unfortunately, just like last time, he pooped out his belt instead of the helm. Oh well, at least this time I killed him without extra buffs so I can mark him as [S]: http://s21.postimg.org/rdza3wfnr/EQ000484.png

And the trifecta for the day, meaning I've now solod all of the HS nameds [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Granted, I needed a wand of allure charge to pull off this kill, but I'm still pleased with how far I've come from xping in HS ent to soloing the likes of DS and UL!

UL popped right after my excavator kill, and I ivu pulled the golem that was pathing east-west at the north end of the hallway I fight in so that I would be able to los the UL's spells as he came far enough down the hall that I could hop out and start casting without him getting the mobs on the south end of the hall to assist. Unfortunately, things didn't quite go as planned. My rune apparently wasn't fresh on the pull, and he HTed me and got off 1 round of combat before my first rapture hit. I ivu'd to the end of my hallway just fine, but then when UL was positioned to hit him with another rapture near my pet, I botched the cast by starting it too soon, it got interrupted, he landed a dot on me and got me with another round of melee... so I hatted and got healed up in WC by a divinity druid [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

After recharging and heading back in, I pulled the same way as last time (an undead had repopped as the east-west pather I had killed last time). This time I didn't botch the rapture: http://s21.postimg.org/6me7ifkg7/EQ000485.png

It's kind of a blur what happened in the next 20-ish seconds. I know I started to go through the process of tashing, slowing (got a resist), rooting UL and recharming my pet. I believe that as soon as rapture faded on UL, my charm wore off. I ate some melee from my pet (I still had some bedlam+rune this time because of not eating a HT on the pull though), blew a wand of allure charge, caught a dot from UL as he sat there rooted casting on me, then my pet was back into take the hits and I tried a second (and successful) slow: http://s24.postimg.org/9jz6ov78l/EQ000486.png

My pet knocking off bedlam was fortuitous, because it let me click off see invis (I'm bad about keeping my top slot open against casters, oh well) and dispel boil blood: http://s12.postimg.org/wqybt7wkt/EQ000487.png

I finally clicked haste on my pet and tossed him a bedlam, since I figured he'd have a run for his money surviving against a level 56 melee + dots even with the UL slowed: http://s16.postimg.org/y207dekv9/EQ000489.png

The rest of the fight consisted of me medding and tossing another bedlam to my pet, who finished off the UL without further incident. Loot: http://s11.postimg.org/rnvv7msj7/EQ000493.png

Done with HS nameds (unless I feel like trying UL again to get him without using a strong clicky... which I don't, at the moment!)! Woo!

Blood PH was up along with a handful of noncasters. This area is actually a lot easier than I thought it was. I never realized there were only 3 pathers + 2 static mobs between hiero/duke area and emp/blood area (that I saw/ran into, anyway), or that the mobs down here were almost totally sub-51.

I think I cleared 3-4 rounds of PH by aggroing the mobs through the door with my pet standing near it before named popped. A level 55 monk is no joke. Even slowed, my pet needed some bedlams and a bunch of stuns (especially since about half resisted) to get the job done... though my pet was a bit low I think. I can never really tell with these weird skele mobs who don't hit for normal intervals.

Anyway, lame loot, but another mob off my list: http://postimg.org/image/tgvgmz241/

I'm going to try to make a point of making the two kills I need in the hole more interesting than most of my writeups have been. I'll see if I can get some screenshots of the areas I go through and consider to fight in and such instead of just pictures of me tash/root/slow/stunning my way to victory. I'm not setting foot in there without a cleric buddy along for the ride though, so not sure when exactly I'll get around to trying it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
