I think you hit the nail on the head, Nizzar knew Derubael was after him for some time apparently (only his core supporters knew of this, I heard the rumour and confronted Nizzar about it, but he said he wasn't getting banned and was following the rules). With internal factions threatening to split off in conjunction with the external pressure Nizzar would have well and truly thrown in the towel, losing his recently levelled/geared toons (I suspect there would be 2 financially invested players who would have had a heavy hand in Nizzar being permabanned all the way to the top).

Shortly after he quit the server with his most of his core members (Willan, Elderan, Rallyd, Spectre, Ghost, Puddems etc)...

Has the server improved? To be honest the numbers are up, however, I do not think this is because of Nizzar being gone. We are fortunate enough to have new groups of players coming from the wider internet community such as Slamdunkatron members originally being from somethingaweful.com

If Azrael didn't start the zerg/denial game and let some of the smaller guilds get pixels, we would definitely see the server up at least an extra 20-50 players, as I know quite a few people left from both Blaze and Holocaust, which resulted in the mass recruiting and guild dissolving.

I remember Blaze/Smoke Break at one point had over 30% of the server population in out of peak hours.

TLDR: Nihilum was a symptom of the community more than anything.
All guilds that hit #1 have behaved quite similarly (to feed the pixel hungry masses).
Azrael are universally disliked for their constant shit talking, crying about the server/number #1 guild, while training with near GM immunity and breaking other server rules.

I think they're were a few individuals in Nihilum just like they're are a few individuals in Azrael that take the game too seriously. You can see when people become too MURSED, that they're sanity begins to slip. And as they spiral out of control they begin to delight in torturing others.

People shouldn't spend so much time playing what is simply a video game.

LOL says the guy who ran Gaanon in via RCY and looped around hands room spiral stairs back through Verix room, getting the OOR group exp killed by flopping on their heads just less than 3 days ago.

Clearly afraid to come face to face with my SK in PVP, needs to avoid PVP to grief people trying to progress their toons...

Help others and new players (give back to the server) and you might have a kinder opinion thought of you.
