Not all homeless are created equal. Also homeless are often not counted after they're dead, ya know? So yeah, maybe the south has more *alive* homeless people. I think you're just playing fast and loose with statistics.

Nor are local death statistics exactly accurate if you have a large influx of population in the category into the area.

I think an important question is how long has somebody been homeless, and how old are they?

Let's say alabama currently has 1000 currently-alive homeless people who have been homeless for three decades. Let's say california currently only has 100 currently-alive homeless people, but one dies every day. Which state has the worse homeless problem?

Also I'll reiterate that I haven't heard of any walgreens locking up their icecream freezers in alabama.
