I've actually had very bad experiences with Doctors (all except my asian elbow doc/surgeon)
Almost all that I've met have been extremely short with me, horrible bedside manners, condescending, uncaring, douchebags
When I had the nerve conductor test done for my displaced ulnar nerve the doctor said he didn't want any yelling, swearing, or crying, and I laughed, assuming he was joking. But he stared me deadass in the face, and I just shut up and asked "so is this going to hurt?" And he said "Yes, that's why I said no yelling, swearing, or crying?" with a sarcastic asshole tone. And because I'm polite, I DIDN'T say "hey man, I'm the fucking customer here, so if you electrocute the shit out of me and I happen to hollar out in pain and you don't like it, you can go ahead jump out that 3rd floor window right there". I already HATE being electrocuted, which has happened multiple times as a kid
Then when I had the elbow surgery, my nice elbow dr was reminding me that my hand muscle atrophy was permanent, and I continued to deny it saying "nah, building muscle is what I specialize in, I bet I can build it back". And my Anesthesiologist looked at the elbow doctor, and without a hint of mirth said "wow, looks like Denial isn't just a river in Egypt huh?". And I wanted to say "wow, so you're kind of a cunt, huh?"
And guess what? I DID build the hand muscle back, almost completely all the way. I wanted to go to the Anesthesiologist's practice and say "too bad we didn't make a bet that if I grew the muscle back I could demonstrate it with a backhand slap"
Other times doctors have made me sit on my ass in the patient room for more than 2 hours past my appointment time, only to ignore most of my questions, say they don't know what is going on medically with my symptoms, and charge me $250
F most doctors, man

Man that sucks, sorry you had a bad experience. Though in the scope of what an MD does, especially an orthopedist or anesthesiologist, bedside manner is just one small part. Trust me when I say you want a doctor who knows their shit and is effective, because it's a profession where knowledge and scientific competency has a direct effect on your clinical trajectory. The doctor who is going to fix your shit is not necessarily the same doctor who is going to be ginger and friendly with you, sometimes.
Though treating patients with a fundamental respect and kindness is absolutely bread and butter for good care, and even produces superior and objectively measurable, clinically significant outcomes. I once had a dermatologist spend all of 45 seconds in the room with me, Friday at 4:00.
Glad you recovered your ulnar nerve musculature, that doesn't always happen.

We had positive experiences with most of the nurses and doctors in our year in and out of the hospital, but we got about one thousandth of the time with an MD as we did with nurses and PAs. The docs always had a gazillion patients and near-zero time to spend with any of them. It's great having to take extra days off of work because the doctor has to play golf, but whatever. Everyone needs a break
The bills are pretty fucking ridiculous. I don't blame the medicine for that shit, though. I blame for-profit insurance companies, the half-assed ACA making all of it worse, and the basic principles of capitalism being applied to something it should not apply to

The shit HMO/PPO's like Humana and UHC are getting away with as Medicare supplemental plans is downright criminal, and they have paid billions in fines to the federal government. Cost of doing business because their ripping off retirees is so profitable they just pay the fines, settle the suits, and keep grifting. If you have any elderly family, make sure they're not on that shit. Healthcare is fucking horrible in this country unless you're well-connected.
