[S-] Slizik the Mighty [54 Warrior, The Hole]

Well, I said I was going to do my best to make my story for my kills in the hole more interesting than just a narrative of the fights themselves... but I'm not very good at that sort of thing. In hindsight I have all these screenshots in my mind's eye that would be PERFECT to plug into a story to deliver the vibe of dungeon crawling through the hole, but during the actual process I didn't think to screenshot them. Hell. Right after we started crawling along, there was a point where we had 5 ratman bodies all piled up next to each other in a little stairwell. Those 5 bodies would have been a great screenshot! But I didn't think of it until I had looted 3 of them. QQ.

Anyways. Here is the story and screenshots that I DO have to post!


I've been putting off my last SAC kills for a while now because they are the kills I find the most annoying. Killing bellycasters, killing stuff immune to all of my spells, killing stuff in a zone that I can't really CR myself in. But Drumas was bored today, so I asked if he'd be up for providing rez and dungeon-crawl services to me in the hole... and next thing you know, we were entering via the little locked rock/pool dealie in paineel.

Jesus. I am SO PISSED that I didn't think of all the perfect times to take screenshots until now.

Anyway, back on topic again, I lulled a bunch of those low-level elementals just inside the entrance and we made our way down into the open area outside of the Slizik jail cell complex before I picked up a pet. The first rock golem I snagged was level 50, and he ended up serving us very well for the next hour or so. Crazy that those dudes have almost 10k hp without buffs (and it seems like this guy was much less prone to breaking charm than the rat I ended up with later).

After talking a bunch of smack about how easy a 54 warrior would be to kill and clicking off my cleric buffs, I pulled Slizik only to have my charm break the moment I did so. And then I realized Slizik was immune to stun/mez, as he and my pet chewed through rune and bedlam instantly and had me down to ~25% before I burned a wand charge on my pet and managed to fetter Slizik and try to get the fight back on track: http://postimg.org/image/5rfjmce9d/

Of course, lulling past a dozen light blues and killing a handful of rats was much less interesting than what came next, which was Drumas and I crawling our way through basically the entire zone to get over to Dartain...

compared to slow, they are very ineffective, especially against mobs that hit so hard to begin with. but if you are having trouble with a hasted/buffed pet breaking and killing you, i'd recommend not hasting/buffing your pet but instead strongly debuffing the mob you want to kill. weaker mobs can also be rooted much more easily, which gives you more time to debuff them

Solo'd Fright in fear, no clickies (no strings, no mallet, no cheal, etc)! Been soloing the break in the last few mornings. Today a few people ended up joining me over time, and we had a lot of fun. Then we left to go down ragefire (grats Amud), and I came back after to go for Fright. I still had to clear a few pathers, as well as Frights two guards. My first attempt I harmo'd one guard then got agro, put pet on Fright, rooted the other guard, but charm broke at ~75%. My pet started to run away cause he was blind, I got blinded, and it was over after about 15 seconds of trying to run away. For the second try I made sure to kill his guards first, then prepped again, fully buffed my pet, got FM, recharmed, and pulled Fright. If charm broke I was done for, but it held the whole fight. I tried to step in twice to dot him, but got blinded once and interrupted, so I just healed my pet after that. Without heals the fight was neck n neck, but my pet finished with ~30% hp and i was at maybe 20m. Didn't clear 100% of the mobs on the way myself, but I just as easily could have, and I won't be bothering to try them again. Got my monk fully shiver-geared in the process, but that vermi bp is still elusive.

Love to know how you pulled off a [D] on Ixiblat. Unless you are talking about the nerfed version in game for a few weeks when epics first came out. We arent counting that version here right?

You mean besides the time me (anthrax) and shinko (on lacie) killed ragefire without any clickies. Looking for an update on first page [D] for that.

Better story than soloing Fright.... once again this morning I spent hours in fear. I was kinda bummed cause I had to leave for work even though a lot of gorgs were still up. anyway, I came home to check the zone. Just like the night before, while I was out someone "cleared" the zone. I say "cleared" because mobs were still popping after they left. So i saw some stuff was up, but not much, n had a look around. Saw a shiverback n a boogy up, so charmed to kill the boogy, but no loot there. Then saw a gorgon was up. Took me a minute to pull him, but finally did n there was my tunic! (sorry to whoever was there before n missed the pop) after hours n hours there this week I finally have full vermi gear! i'm so burnt out on PoFear though and won't want to go back for a good while for sure :P

also grats to Kalderia on your shaman epic, sorry to miss the fight, but sounds like you had overkill anyway [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Just got undertaker lord solo, really really hard fight. Ill post some screenshots i guess since i have the time. Didn't use charmed pet and he really kept me dotted up and stuff. not fun.

Anyhow, is Undertaker Lord's room enough DPS for a dictate sacrifice to work?

Basically
1) Pacify room
2) Rapture Undertaker Lord
3) Tash/Slow
4) Dictate him as Rapture fades.
5) Have him Attack everything paci'd in the room.
6) when dictate breaks (or if he's super low, gazughi), attempt to aoe stun after he summons you.
7) AoE blur/Spores and hope with pacify, most stuff is out of social range or aoe stun + (optional wind of tash, dunno how resistant his room is) + aoe stun 2 + fascinate/mezmerization.
8) Either Puppet Strings a pet, blur Undertaker Lord to reset your aggro so he focuses pet. or (if he's not dotted) Rapture him, yank a pet, and blur him to reset your aggro.
