I seriously can't begin to fathom why people are so afraid of YT and global OOC. This will only help the server out, which is dying, everyone afraid of this is probably a scrub who will get called out or embarrassed by being on the right side of YT. Just make a limit on how many OOC emotes you can make in a given time, that solves EVERYTHING. If people don't like reading funny green text then they have the option to turn it off, which some people did on VZTZ. This classic Everquest deal to the end is not going to work, some modern day implementations such as global chat and YT need to be made. VZTZ was so much fun because of the community and the luls that were to be had. Also: inb4 VZTZ was scum infested maggot cock drip. It was the most enjoyable server I ever played on in EQEMU. If you did not play VZTZ then you don't have any business talking shit on it.

As for YT, it promotes a certain style of pvp and stifles diversity. It gives even more power to shit-talkers, griefers, and random-PKers, while anyone playing by a different set of self-imposed rules is considered inferior or less skilled. Even as an anti-pk I likely have more kills than the average player on this box, it's not about being afraid of being on the receiving end of YT. It's just that some of us are playing a different game and our objective isn't always to rack up as many kills as possible and be publicly recognized for it. In short, YT encourages people to kill for no reason other than to be featured in YT, which just makes everyone paranoid that the people in their zone are going to attack them for no reason, which promotes more of a "shoot first" mentality. Like I said before, it's fine if you want to play that way, just you shouldn't be forced into playing that way.

I like how the people who dont want this can be articulte and respectful but those for it call us fags, scrubs, retards. This even shows why. Im sure the devs can see all the troll accounts voting for yes. I dont have troll accounts so im innocent of this. Even if the numbers were correct it shows a deep divide in the current player base.
The developers who made this server attempted to make a classical pvp server. That has a lot of draw as is. Logging on for the first time and seeing. DIRTNAPS FOR SCRUBS! Jews control the media, and the n-word, whille people saying COME GET Xavios, or Hobbitdude, hes afk in this house in qeynos, or low on life running to SK zoneline! Would definetly make Nilbogs recreation look more like any other pvp box that was a flavor of the week. Im sorry his creation is much better then anything these guys seem to live their lives through. Lets face it the major drawback of eq is the anti-semites, racists, immature people, etc. At least if game is kept classic the only interaction with them you must have is through the gameplay.

We had more then 500 players on the box at the start....... Just because its population has died down , it doesn't mean some of the people we griefed off the box dont still have an interest in it.

Who says yellow text has to include the zone they were slain in?
Why not just have something like the SZ leader board where it updates at the end of every week? I think it'd be a draw and kills all of the cons that people are mentioning now. Yes - "Original" EQ had a pvp leader board and it included zone. No, it wasn't broadcasted in game.
