Israel is at war with Hamas. Israel is not at war with the people of Gaza. But war is hell. There will be collateral damage and people die at war. Innocents die during war. The number of deaths will exceed anything so far as this is what happens in war.

That is the reality we are in very soon. How to fully help the people of Gaza will be hard and will evolve as facts change on the ground. I do not know what the outcome is other than the west has to come up with a way for how the people of Gaza will be governed after Israel ends the war. Whether some coalition of the west, UN, and Israel or some other method of governance. The people of Gaza will no longer be governed by Hamas though.

-I just told you that some Palestinians are part of Hamas but not all. This isn't always easily differentiated by Israelis.

-If some Palestinians are part of Hamas then yes Israel is at war with the people of Gaza
