So we should not have any kind if standards or integrity of rule because it is a free server?

Why the fuck would you play here EVER?
Holocaust could ask the same question when they were banned over the same thing Nihilum did with Nagafen.

This server could get shut down at any moment for any reason deemed appropriate by Rogean.

Playing on this server is a risk and a gamble. The dudes that run this thing don't owe you or anyone anything. This is not live servers where you pay to play.

By your example the issue would have to be that illegal substances suddenly became LEGAL. Then when you moved your goods across the border and gave them to your friend (because they were legal) the DEA sweeps in and arrest you because "they made a mistake" lifting the law allowing the drugs to be transported in the first place.

Argument by analogy must be consistent and parallel or it is just a bad analogy.

In our example people were banned associating with people they thought were FREE and CLEAR of all wrong doing. This is not a case of Hacker A accessing the database and unflagging all banned accounts then proceeding to try and move his items off.

It is a "GM Mistake" that now several innocent players must pay the price for.
Time and time again, Nihilum defends their sploits with arguments that basically sum up to "If there's a possible way it can happen in game, it must be legal - because things which are illegal must be hard-coded impossibilities."

And this is EXACTLY why this is a just and necessary ruling. As a community, we must learn to use common sense.

It's pretty clear (to me at least) that if Server Admins suddenly decided to unban all restricted accounts, then it would be announced publicly. This theoretical unbanning (in preparation of Velious to bring back banned players?) would have to be advertised to accomplish this goal. Yet it was not.

Instead, some people discover they can access banned accounts, notify their guild, who then proceed to fully strip those toons. This really doesn't sound like those guilty people figured it was an intended unbanning; it sounds shady as f*** to me.

The fact that the banned characters were immediately stripped directly suggests that it was expected they would become banned again. Therefore, your defence makes no sense.

I'm just surprised that majority of Nihilum members in Teamspeak didn't raise the red flags on this.

the big problem about this is there is plenty of innocent people who got caught up in this, just by being handed an item. They weren't the ones who HIDING items, they were given items to use. Without KNOWING that the items were dirty. You would think that the people who Actually did it this would get banned, and the people who were victims would have the items deleted, and the accounts give back. This isn't NIHILUM only this happened to all 3 guilds. Items were traded, sold, loaned to be used. ALRIGHT fine, ban my wizard for having my banned Manastone, don't ban the person I gave a GBS too.......

I'm sure most of them will be unbanned. It's quite a mess to work out, but the GMs here try their best to be fair.

I guess you should start playing by the rules and stop fucking other people over because you are a pile of crap huh?

Maybe your guild will realize how bad you are to for their well-being and get rid of you. I doubt it after reading the responses in this thread though.

Go ahead and read the first post! They didnt want to send 30 database queries to Rogean so they banned everybody instead.

And the unbannings for people that have items will be decided on a case by case basis when those individuals petition, I'm sure. To pretend that everyone is going to remain banned is just silly.
