I've actually never seen Hell raiser.

My favorite is the original Halloween.

Followed by Friday the 13th.

Then a modern one, The Conjuring.

hellraser is actually really hard to watch.

Like you have to be into a few things to "like hellraser"

1. the dramatic portions of nc-17 cable movies
2. looking at flesh being cut

that's actually the pillars of the hellraser franchise, if you dont LOVE those 2 things, then you may like the 'idea' of hellraser, but you certainly wont like the act of watching it.
