Which proof, the one where you shot yourself in the foot by posting a video of Fauci explicitly stating to wear a mask if you're symptomatic to help contain the spread?

All of that aside, I'm genuinely curious...to science-deniers, what is the go-to explanation for why the US is being hit so bad by the virus compared to most other developed nations? I've heard the "it's bio-engineered to hurt americans because the world doesn't like trump" explanation but that's obviously far-fetched and stupid, so what's a real alternative explanation for why America is far and away the leading nation in covid infections / deaths?

But you did. Why would Fauci recommend that obviously symptomatic people wear masks? Maybe we can get there together. Why would it be a good idea for an obviously symptomatic person to wear a mask in public?

Why are you even so passionate about a conspiracy theory? Even if all your paranoia is true, let's just say it is, to whos and what benefit would it be for people to get the public to wear masks in public during a global pandemic? That's the part I never get, this is like talking to a flat-earther even though they're literally staring at a hill next to them. What would a conspiracy to get the public to wear masks do? Is it big pharma or something? Even though the whole problem was that there wasn't enough and people converted their factories over to making PPE and hand sanitizer?
