It was Douglass in the movie wall street who said "greed is good", Reagan never said it. That's liberal Hollywood, not irl politics. If you want an example of greed is good, look no further than Nancy Pelosi. Made a fortune doing insider trading once she sat her withered ass in a "public servants" chair. After so much pressure and heat, they passed a rule to stop legal insider trading. Then later when no one was looking they gutted the bill and made it against the law to report who was doing insider trading from then on [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Also I'm 99% sure he actually said greed is good even if he used other language to say it.
I've watched Reagan documentaries pertaining to Wall Street. Not some Douglas flicks

What the "greed is good" speech was about was our shift from allowing management to run the firm to focus exclusively on shareholder value on a quarter to quarter basis. This is basically the start of all our problems in the last 30 years as far as I can tell. You can make a little extra money in the short term by getting them to exclusively focus on the next 3 months. But in the long run -- it should be obvious this mentality will cost us.
Edit: it wasn't a real speech so much a paraphrase of what a lot of wall street speculators were arguing at the time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PF_iorX_MAw The best part is all the stuff he says leading up to "greed is good." | ||

The point of that speech goes over the average viewer's head. It is an observation of the power the argument had in hindsight. Not some kind of fanciful demonization of Reaganomics. But it puts trust in the viewer to understand Gorden Gekko's ideas are very destructive for companies in the long run.

No, Reagan never said it. Wall Street is controlled by globalist bankers, has been for decades, and has nothing to do with Reagan (who was an outsider), Jews nor aliens from outer space. You have bankers, politicians, media, useful idiots, all contributing to the cause for the love of money and/or power, and they all point the finger elsewhere. The 80's were an interesting time to live in, but some aspects of it such as this are best left in the anals of history-ish. lol at the absolute hysteria against Reagan in those days, much like our Trump of current days in some ways, but worse back then. Reagan helped to open my eyes to just how unstable and demented progressive-liberals are.
