It's like .. 3 buttons dude.

You don't have to be "good" to press them, just paying attention, knowing the plan, etc.

We had an EXTENSIVE set of documents that detailed VERY THOUROUGHLY exactly what was expected from every member.

Yes we had strict requirements, but it was all spelled out so that an absolute noob could fulfill them.

We accepted Goobles under the same rules anyone else was denied under.

Enough said, sorry you were worse than Goobles.

I got denied as a monk in TR after 2months of app, rerolled necro, had trystych sponsor and teah me, made it in after 1 month (extra short app because I rerolled). I remember those 40 pages app threads, IB's core were elitistic pricks, they expected you to be as good as them after 1month , that.was harsch thinking some of them had years of experience, but yeah, so it was. I never learned as much as I did in TR/IB.
I think I flamed every one of the cleric apps and then said, "But he's a cleric and he shows up, so let him in." It's not a big deal to have a couple people who don't know how to play in the guild (like Ektar), but when it gets to be over half the guild, it's not a top end guild anymore. Almost all of us had years of experience and we didn't want to hold anyone's hand.

Ektar would send me pics of his chest fur while we raided. That kind of out-of-the-box thinking would also give you a big leg up on seniority in the guild.

I think I raged at every Ench app we received (cause other than Equiss all the apps were epic fail) and yet most ended up with the tag except the few. You're right Alawen, some classes had it easier than others based on need. Surprisingly even though Clerics got an easier ride, we pumped out prob some of the best clerics of p99 at the time. For every bad cleric, we'd have some real studs as i recall.

Also, everyone sounds the same in every one of those application post. Used to be big shit on live, know wtf i'm doing, here to raid top end progression blah blah blah. Most ends up being a severe disappointment. Don't call us elitist pricks when the app didn't know how to get to a zone or use /loc properly (not even talking about class mechanics or boss prep here). IB set out to get the best, yet everyone and their mom at one point tried to app there only to end up in various other guilds.

I didn't make it in 'cause I was bad as a monk, whilst TR had just the most exceptional pull team that p99 ever witnessed, people like Kinsawt, Perun, kalrei, they were like a little sect hanging out in their own vent lol.

I made it in as a necro as playing a necro is just retarded in raid, unless you want to do things such as pulling 2nd PoH floor to 1st floor and run on the roofs to kite the whole plane whilst you pull inny, that's when necros became interesting, also island pulling in PoA. I really appreciated the fact that despite my app being denied, the guild gave me a chance and trystych took the time to learn me tricks n strats. I loved this atmosphere of "try to get the best outta your class", that was Perun/Kins motos.

Apping to TR/IB as monk, enc or sk was touchy, rest was just ok.

I think everyone tends to be most critical of their own class. My thing with the clerics was because they started off so bad. It's not really a hard class to play decently, and almost all of them improved quickly.

With class bias in mind, Prospect is an excellent druid. It's usually a pretty slow-paced class for raiding, but he was always ready to snare kite or charm or whatever random thing would help in tough situations. I don't say it lightly, but Prospect plays druid better than I do.
