Enchanters didn't charm until PoP dire charm AA

There's a lot of provenly custom here even by your own admissions.

Charm is totally broken on EMU like many other things without a client from 1999. Just admit it and move on.

I don't think charms a big issue to the devs their OK with it im sure as long as the values for the spell data is era correct, in example cast time, mana cost, MR adjust, tick duration.. etc.

Anyway. I think it should be more random. Less consistent. That with clothy ac/mitigation being less effective and channeling harder would be great!

But don't kid yourselves that you are some kinda OG uber raiders cuz u found a museum with exhibits under construction to LARP in.

I wonder why cd288 is allowed to insult everyone in these threads, including outside RnF, and never gets in trouble for it. I took his bait a single time and absolutely gutted him to the point he didn't even respond and I got suspended from forums for it.

Kind of like when other people said the Seal Team guild leader delivers pizza for a living on forums and I said, "Wow, really? He delivers pizza?" and got suspended for it but not the people who actually made the statement.

Awhile back I called Nilbog a limp dicked faggot after my in game accounts were banned by Uthgaard when I called him gay on forums but they eventually unbanned them when I was proven right that Uthgaard was a terrible GM and I had already complained to Nilbog about him before the forum incident. I have infinite respect for Nilbog and Rogean because of that. Even though I insulted them they were mature enough to not ban my game accounts.

The inconsistency and childishness around here is so ridiculous though. This piece of shit cd288 runs his mouth calling people names all over the forums and is seemingly immune. I'll never get an answer because I already tried that with the pizza incident. I was just told I was suspended and it would not be overturned. Great, thanks guys, real clear.

For all the people trying to reach some consensus that Enchanter players just didn't know how to charm you're just creating a narrative that Charm does need to be nerfed. Just like all the other nerfs on P99 due to people knowing how to do things too well or without technical limits like Bard AE, AE groups, etc. Sounds good guys, people didn't know how Charm worked, now it's trivial and needs a nerf anyway.

No matter how you look at it Charm is detrimental to the server in its current state regardless of it's functionality in classic.

Oh and the repeated "AOW charm kill" nonsense is stupid because the whole point has always been that Charm increases in power in Velious but prior to that is mostly garbage. Classic garbage, Kunark relevant, and Velious overpowered. On P99 it's overpowered from the start when on real classic charmed pets were killed group members and training the whole zone.

Anyway if it's not obvious I don't give a fuck anymore. I'll wait for Green 2.0 and see if the staff learned anything or if we're doing fast spawn instanced bullshit with double XP rates and level 50 channeling skill from level 1 then calling it classic again.

Waiting for another suspension/ban now, probably my 20th. Fuck all of you shitty players and crybabies who are trying to maintain a broken server that fits your AFK raiding playstyle.

Charm wasnt used alot because the skill cell wasnt as big as is today , but it was posible .Enchanter solo charm necro guard for profit was a daily forum rant on the old boards ,u could even perma fucking charm players on vanilla , one of the most not well tactics for monks on kunark was hire enchanters to charm the bugged tower guard wich could solo the brother for the rotlc.

The bottom line it was still safer to be a enchanter and be on a group than risk a potential CR and lose xp because no cleric or paladin on the zone and gettin a necro rez on kunark would mean u would gettin ur ass broke
