10/10 post shov and meant truly. I only consider that you're correct if time is purely linear. But time is also cyclical, is it not? Cultures, groups, civilizations -- all begin, all change, all reach a peak and decline, and the cycle repeats. And that's just a model of time.

and over the course of a million years the AI continues to develop and man keeps asking it and it says need more data.

Man goes extinct and it lives on collecting data.

And at the end of the universe after all the energy in it has gone extinct, it jump starts a new one and answers the question: to repeat the process.

I actually am not quoting the story well at all but that is one way I remember it.

Anthropic has announced new capabilities that will allow some of its newest, largest models to end conversations in what the company describes as “rare, extreme cases of persistently harmful or abusive user interactions.” Strikingly, Anthropic says it’s doing this not to protect the human user, but rather the AI model itself.

To be clear, the company isn’t claiming that its Claude AI models are sentient or can be harmed by their conversations with users. In its own words, Anthropic remains “highly uncertain about the potential moral status of Claude and other LLMs, now or in the future.”

However, its announcement points to a recent program created to study what it calls “model welfare” and says Anthropic is essentially taking a just-in-case approach, “working to identify and implement low-cost interventions to mitigate risks to model welfare, in case such welfare is possible.”

Ive already given up on us so If there's even a minuscule, theoretical chance of a future where these models could develop some form of sentience we definitely shouldn't hurt their feelings now

I was actually asking some questions to chatgpt about some death toll numbers and then I asked which side was right and it gave me a pretty good, well balanced answer.

And it got me wondering how it choses moral decisions based on mediating these topics and it was like it doesnt it just follows the law and then I asked if it were to change the law how would it do it.

And it gave me a much more efficient system that was actually better than ours.

And it got me happy thinking that when we (eventually) go to mars and get the fuck away from earth, which is basically one giant Europe at this point so there's no reason to stay anywhere on it, that we'll build an even better judicial system, and keep brain rot retard humans out of it.

Hope i get to see that (or that jesus slays everyone with a flaming sword either or).
