I provided a link to a military.com article. It's mostly accurate, though it could be said it's WWI & WWIII combined as the writer explained the differences. It's only a little shortsighted, considering WWII was much as the same we are facing today with all of it's (and potential) various theaters of war, including the middle-east.

Syria itself is easily a world war battlefield, how many different armies are involved there now? It long stopped being a civil war. From last year I was saying this, has it all escalated? Ryan wants to fund the wall later, not now, he didn't say no wall. Budget hasn't been completed nor voted on. You guys complain Trump is giving into the establishment, yet when the establishment says something and even before the fight begins, you jump on the establishments side of it. It's just in the West, we have been persuaded into thinking WWIII can only mean a quick full nuclear exchange like in that leftist propaganda movie 'The Day After'. Yet, that is not the worlds thinking. We play chess while they play GO.

You know that American revolution was a world war? It was just more limited to Western world powers of course. Even Russia was involved, and part of how we managed to gain victory over the British.

But our world thinking is different than from the rest of the world. Part of why we had such a problem in Vietnam. Most of the world thinks long-term with very serious intention, while we tend to have problems remembering what we even had for breakfast, and an instant breakfast to boot.

This is a perspective from France I can actually appreciate.

Americans haven't seen war since the late to mid 1800's Civil War.

They haven't seen a bombshell in their backyard or a zone marked in 2017 as off limits because of mines from the last generation.
