Yep.
His 90k/year revelation came after I described how people that don't have a nepotistic leg-up generally make about 40% less than those that do; often working in a position that doesn't even directly contribute to the bottom-line profitability of their companies. I totally Babe Ruth "Called my Shot" tripled crowned him, but the reality is, he was just lying to try to make me feel bad. Lying to make people feel bad and agree with you is a classic leftist rhetorical ploy. So much so, that when you tell them the truth and it makes them feel bad, they deny the truth because then they would have to compromise their position. That Cognitive Dissonance, and such. It's ok to be poor. Most of us start from there. Lying and saying "i don't mind spending a few extra bucks on....." when its costing real life people a lot of money (hell, I cant even afford insurance anymore) is a bit out of line though. It's not a valid justification, considering who it's costing the most (% of their disposable income-wise), especially when the statement isn't even coming from a place of true experience to begin with. I'll agree with you. If i was making 200k/year, I wouldn't mind spending a little more to grease the wheels. I don't make 200k/year though, and I don't have any money to grease the wheels with. I already have 2 of my own children and help out with 2 additional children that my girl takes care of on an income just about equivelent to mine before we factor in how much CS i'm paying to support. Government ain't helping me, in fact they're taking from me....increasingly so. While telling the rest of you a bullshit story about how they're helping people like me. They aren't helping anyone unless they give up entirely bro, and even then if you aren't a woman with children, you can go die of starvation under the bridge for all they care.

Oh.
I seriously doubt he makes that much. My parents have owned an IT company for over 25 years. We've had *some* techs and web devs make that much, but it's pretty rare. I doubt a for-profit school is paying a lowly IT guy that. If so, gimme the school name, I'll set them up with an MSP for a fraction of the cost.

When your position costs other real life people money that they don't have, its a bit disingenuous to be sitting there with the governments gun pointed at our head telling us bullshit stories about how we should pay more, "LIKE YOU DO", when you don't. Why do you even fucking care what the government wants? Are they sending you checks for supporting so nobly and selflessly on the P99 forums?

its "In order to provide for a healthier stronger nation of able bodied workers, your country needs you to volunteer for those that are not doing as well as you are; for the greater good of your country and the for the greater good of your brothers-at-arms" with some nationalistic rhethoric thrown in there for flair. Its exactly the same as communism, except you can replace "country" with "countrymen" or "fellow compatriots/comrades".
