I have no such plans as it is not in my power to do so, and no because apaths are perfectly productive and beneficial members of society. That being said being entitled to a “living wage” factors things that are far outside of a particular companies responsibility. Companies cannot control the cost of living for a person

Nor is there a rule that a wage to support oneself comfortably is everyone’s inalienable right. Your wage is a negotiation between the skillset you have to offer and how much an employer values that skillset relative to other choices they have. Nothing more, nothing less

It is NOT an employer’s job to make sure someone can comfortably live alone when flipping burgers at McDonald’s. That would be called charity

I guess one of the things that is a bit sketchy about wages is that they are also a factor of your own personality assertiveness combined with how you demonstrate that assertiveness while selling yourself in just a few meetings

I have known people in my job who were more competent get offered less money because they didn’t have assertive personality types that lended themselves towards effective wage negotiation. This, coincidentally enough, has been somewhat used as a partial explanation of women vs men’s wages although I am not ready to generalize men as more assertive than women on average. I don’t know if I agree with that

Luckily one of my friends and co-workers through her own personal growth gained that assertiveness, then called a new meeting to leverage a better paying offer at an alternative agency to get herself a big raise. So there is unfortunately a decent amount of importance to your interpersonal skills of negotiation and like I said, willingness to stick up for yourself

The President has never had an effect on gas prices, we invaded Iraq over oil and halliburten got access to fields of it, gas prices still rose.
