Who's we? Most every group has a history of persecution or lower standing. Not exploiting that cheap material for laughs is just basic human decency. It isn't even low hanging fruit. It's on the ground rotting and best left untouched by those who can't reach the topmost branches. Few comedians have managed to extract humor out of the darkest chapters in history. American comedy largely came from its immigrant communities, not nerds with too much time on hands.
