There are very little homeless wandering the streets, most are simply down-on-their-luck and will not hassle anyone. (its shameful). A backbone of southern culture for this area is the Baptist church, which I come from. Doesn't matter if you want to do that or not, its part of the fabric, a big part. Churches do missions and charities to help these few, because its manageable. The south shames being jobless, doesn't matter what you do, be a plumber, a lawyer or doctor or a guy who cleans shit from gutters... just have a job or financial security. You never have to flex money here.

Edit: The work climate is business casual.

Yes, being in Denver for a bit with my son, I’m appalled by the attitude towards begging on the corner. Houston is 3-4x as big as Denver but we don’t have near this problem. Get a fucking job

Also, I’m baptist as well Mblake, I was baptized after my mother passed away last year. Does that make you think I’m more or less Adobe? Also I’d like to be known as Adobeheart

Exactly. We’re in a crippling labor shortage and all the fast food places near me are offering $14+/hour starting wages and usually comp at least 1 free meal too but that’s still not worth it I guess. Not when you can ride SNAP cards and food banks

Would be a whole different ballgame if not wanting to work meant starving to death
