And it's especially galling when those women complain about it and you tell them *they* have the problem. It's blatant misogyny repackaged as some kind of civil rights struggle.

The argument about "stealing women's trophies" would hold more water if I believed for a second that any of y'all actually gave a shit about women's sports before this debate. Bill Burr has a great bit about how no one watches the WNBA, he was talking about women but the same argument would apply. When was the last time you actually watched a game? Maybe slapping a wig on Lebron is exactly what they need to get some ratings.

Luckily this really is only an issue going one direction

For example, we have a trans person at my work F->M, obviously started taking testosterone because they got that sort of scratchy deeper in between female and male’s voice (although their voice was already kinda masculine), and lots of facial hair

He kinda of adopted the nickname Batman because it has “man” right there in the name. So to be nice when I see him I say “sup man” or “sup bro” and treat him like one of the guys. I wanted to talk shop about shooting test, like I prefer subQ to IM needles, but haven’t tried ever

But either way, he’s not going to be taking anyone’s medals, and I don’t give two shits that he’s in the bathroom with me

But I understand how girls might feel uncomfortable with a hulking person who still looks like a dude in theirs though

For sure. The pro trans group isn't going to start watching if they included trans athletes, and the anti trans group isn't going to start watching if they banned trans athletes. It's just such a silly thing to get worked up about, no one actually cares.

So I have to personally watch women's sports to have an opinion on how fucked up it is that dudes can just waltz in and blow them away by pretending to be women?

I barely even watch men's sports either, btw. The only sport I watch is MMA, and hey look at that they have separate men's and women's divisions! And I actually really like watching the good female fighters.

Not no one, the women who might get bumped out of a medal prolly care

I’m more of a rise to an ultra-challenge sorta person though. I did competitive TKD, and if I had someone 50lbs heavier than me in my sparring division, I’d see it as David v Goliath and be like “bring it on”

But there’s more on the line for them than me, I was just a kid. And it’s def a small very segment of the population who it affects

It's not silly at all to the girls who bust their ass for their entire lives only to have some dude take the spot they earned. The blatant unfairness is extremely irritating to me, regardless of whether I care about women's sports. I *do* care about women, or anybody else, being treated extremely unfairly.

Definitely, and the fact that it's only going in one direction is maybe the best evidence of what the problem is with trans women competing against biological women.

The F to M trans men are still gonna get their ass kicked by biological men if they were to join a men's swim team, because it turns out there are fundamental differences in physiology between males and females regardless of how many exogenous hormones you pump yourself full of.
