Yeah my Turing test is pretty simple. If you can't say, "make me a whole movie" then we don't have AGI.

Like imo with AI i see them making better calculators, but not better managers.

AGI will have to manage itself better than a human would. It has to be able to just do the job of a director, and identify problems on its own, and fix them. Without that it's useless as a calculator.

They seem to just be making more and more powerful calculators, and thinking that will just create a better manager.

But it never showed any sign of that. I think its based off the same belief AI was built out of: humans wont make AI, machine learning will.

They think, if we keep dumping shit into this furnace, it will eventually invent AGI.

They have no idea what AGI is.

That being said, the way these people that dont like chat GPT describe chat GPT 5 sounds more like bitter internet gamer crap than science.

yeah i feel like they made them dumber on purpose to either justify the higher paid tier which DeepSeek initially kinda disrupted, or fear over people learning chemistry and other things that are scary with rising uh... tensions in the general populous

i'm taking a break until CUDA 13.0 and the new Nvidia driver are available on Arch linux before i play with mine again

Open AI is a cult. I keep letting myself naively think that they are "the best minds" trying to "make efficent tools for people"

Sam altman, is a cult leader. he is pushing an idea of "AGI and ASI will do all the work and mankind will enjoyo the ride" and I really think tahts what his employees are just trying to get to.

They are not building/polishing anything they understand.

They are just visionless engineers throwing compute at something they think will wake up and give them the answers to the universe.
