That's the crux of the matter for thinking people. It's obviously not at conception, and it's obviously not at 8 months, so when is it? There should be some line set.

And there should be some limit on the number of abortions a single person can receive. Obviously at some point the fetus becomes a living thing, and abortions should therefore not be used as birth control.

It is literally at conception which is the construction of your genome, that is unique and does not change.

The sperm and egg are specialised cells called gametes and are unique in comparison to most of the other cells in the body, as they only contain half the usual number of chromosomes. At fertilisation, half of your father's genome is mixed with half of your mother's genome to form your complete genome.

There is not a whole lot of thinking needed though if that person learned basic biology. When is the fetus a non-living thing? When is a cell a non-living thing? Is it consciousness that differentiates this?
