This entire debate is hogwash and smells like the banana republic. There has to be alternative ways of making the server competitive while keeping it classic.

this isnt classic EQ. exp bonus not classic, ac/mitigation not classic, custom pvp mechanics not classic, 3 years of an expansion not classic, and more. the argument of classic eq doesnt work.

If 2 guilds are going at it, and everyone is using AoN. That sounds like a mess.

Why can't a guild just declare that noone in guild uses AoN, so you can always tell which are the bad guys.

Am I missing something?

As in, one of the sides goes shirts and the other skins?

If that's what you are proposing. This is pretty much how people go about trying to gain advantage by AoN. Arrive at the zone first and your whole guild skellies up, at that point your whole enemy are visible player models and you and your skeleton army are indistinguishable, the enemy team zoning in on you has no chance to get their skelly on.

What you described is the very best case scenario towards exploiting the aon and what often happens.
