All im saying is the consequences for failure to domesticate islam is much more catastrophic for some than others. at face value it doesn't sound bad. what did it do? did the government just buy crops from farmers and then give that food to starving people? It is almost certainly better than paying farmers to destroy crops.

that's how food stamps exist. we grow too much for farmers to sell at a market rate and remain solvent, and the govt has an interest in farms existing, so they prop up demand and help the poor in the same stroke. its in the farm bill.
