Doubt you've ran into geared out melees to be able to accurately judge the results of the 75% nerf.

Melees owned the shit out of guild pvp at the end of vztz 2.0 old world once they had resists. Only droolcups like mippo and others thought otherwise.

Should melee damage be nerfed in PvP?

knuckle melee do 80% in pvp atm - that is what I'm referring to

it might be totally fine. I'm not sure. I know on live it was 100% for melee and either 66 or 75% for casters, but the formulas are of course not the same here as they were there

Yeah, but you have to remember that the melee system was way fucked up on those emu servers. The only original melee system from classic is on P99. I'm not discounting the protest, just that the melee was pretty damn crazy back on TZ/VZ.

But so were resists, so...

Nah, I can judge it pretty fairly without doing that. I'm sure you can agree that the root of the problem is rarely fixed on the PvP emu's. Mitigation of the same melee system isn't a fix (I'm not criticizing the dev's. I'm sure it's a difficult task to do). It might help to mitigate, but its still wacky to a certain extent. TZ/VZ had warriors crippling for 1700 with a 30 dmg wep. Rangers were bullshit, mages--same.

I will admit it was still fun, though =p.
