Training is a tool in EQ, not knowing how to utilize it and defend against it will cause you to lose in a competition that allows it.

IB is the guild that continued to pull VP dragons until they would no longer AE before killing them with low numbers b/c they couldn't kill them otherwise.

5 months into Kumark, TMO's claim to fame was farming hate for armor and winning the race to Frigate for the locket camp. Also, zeelot being the douche he is by getting suspended for killing the vendor who sold the Kunark port spells to try to block everyone. I loved the 1.2 million plat offer for 2 lockets.....and then could not hold the camp.

Thank God gwence brought up the VP cockblock courtesy of it not being ready.

you're right, p99 doesn't have competition now, maybe that is why all of you IB people are upset.

You left p99 to get away from the competition and allowed TMO to live where you wanted to with the way you wanted to live.

EQ is what we the players make of it, and on p99 we've made an ugly clusterfuck of what should be a really special server. I really don't get what is so fun and fulfilling about this idea of "competition" on a 13 year old game. 24/7 raiding, racing, training, FTE rule lawyering... that's your idea of fun competition? There are plenty of games out there that offer real competition in the form of functional PVP. EQ is not one of them, and the idea that the tactics used here are somehow something to be proud of, or enjoyable for anyone involved, is baffling to me.

EQ at its best is about cooperation and community, not about stomping on each others throats and being complete douchebags to each other. I know this will sound like a crazy concept to some, but EQ really is more fun if you just relax, work with other guilds rather than against them, and log into a PVP or FPS game when you need to take out your aggression. The raid culture here is so incredibly messed up... it's really much worse than it ever was on live, and that's a damn shame.

P99 is whatever the majority want it to be and to a lesser extent whatever the strongest wants it to be.

Don't want to compete for raid targets in the p99 aspect? don't. Wait it out and see how long till TMO gets bored or quits.

The server can go in many directions atm and honestly, the server is the most peaceful i've ever seen it since i've been here.

Everyone bitching is just doing what they do best, bitch. You want free loot, everyone already knows that, but don't expect the guild that stuck out the war to just roll over for you in an instant because you cried some. To the victor go the spoils, perhaps you should have fought it out to control the p99 world, then you could have turned it over in an instant.

Pretty much agree with everything you said there, surprisingly - Other than the "you want free loot" statement. To you guys who have "stuck out the war" that has been this server, training and racing and 24/7 raiding is part of the price of getting boss kills and loot. That isn't what it has to be, or what it should be - with the exception of the premier raid dungeon of the expansion - VP, for now, NToV + Sleepers in Velious. If you want to be on top you should expect to have to fight and claw for it, that I agree with.

So many good players have left the server due to the state of the endgame, and the community has really suffered as a result. Community is ultimately what this game should be about, not total domination of all raid targets. This server and this community are a shadow of what they could have been. Certainly I'm not blaming it all on TMO - I've read the history. Just hoping things take a turn for the better in the future. The Ragefire rotation was the first real progress I've seen in my time on the server, so maybe there will be more in the future.
