A weekly varianced repop would be exactly what this server needs to keep everyone happy, but it won't happen.

Thank you for all your kind posts. There seems to be no alternative to racing.
It seems the only solution would be to join them.

You didn't experience the kunark / vanilla era. Just move along suprised it took this long for you to realize this ... you either join, start your own or join chest
Should lobby for less rules

I've long held that the staff controls the resource distribution curve (with the ruleset and how they enforce it).
In my time on p99, the loot/target distribution has looked much the same (apart from the TMO monopoly and R/C/FFA eras) - in that there have been two at the top fighting for dominance and serially consuming as much as they can. The guild names and the guild leaders change, but the outcome remains the same. On the most basic level, I'm okay with that. Rogean's box, Rogean's rules. And if the two AAs (or whatever came before them or will replace them in the future) are adhering to the ruleset (as enforced) more or less, the outcomes will be the same as they've always been. We'll (collectively) get cooperative now and then like we do, but to expect anything different (from the history that we've experienced) is probably silly. In other words, it is what it's been...and will continue to be what it was. It's on Rogean to decide which parts of the playerbase he wants to cater to...and, as it stands, it's to the more aggressive. His box, his rules. It's on all of us to decide whether we want to log in and play under those rules. Again, there's lots to be said for cooperation and being generous. But that's not the norm...and it's pretty ridiculous, historically, to expect too much of that too often. If permanent, substantive changes come, I think they'll come from the top down rather than the bottom up. It's ultimately Rogean's call which types of players (aggressive vs. more casual on a continuum) he wants his system to serve with which targets/loots. We all have ALL kinds of ideas about how to make it better or how to tweak things...whatever. But that's not our call. It's his. He's had prettymuch the same thing for as long as I've been around. So I have to believe that's what he wants and likes HIS box to look like.

However, I would rather quit this game than abandon my guild mates if the only option is to join Usain Bolts team and win races just to kill some harder bosses because it wont be the same killing those bosses without my guild mates that I have shared the majority of my time with.
Unfortunately there is just not enough end of velious content to cater for more guilds and is just an unrewarding time sink for the unlucky guilds losing races. I guess my EQ classic experience has come to an end then. Thank You Sirken and Team for the awesome experience. It has been a pleasure and Thank You to the community of p1999 for maintaining the community and spirit of EQ. On the brighter side of things. I achieved everything I never got to achieve back in the day in 1999.

There is of course a third option: Simply resist the Pixel Sickness and ignore the high-end. 100% of all standard group and lower end raid content is fully doable by people wearing Thurgadin armor or worse. Even the high-end raids were initially defeated by people wearing Kunark gear. You do not need North Temple Veeshan gear to gain full use and enjoyment out of this game. Danth
