Well, once youve removed all of the magic from Home Computers, all you have left is consolized consumerism. It's hard to maintain goodwill when the wonder has been stripped out and and you find yourself holding Microsoft at gunpoint.
If I remember right you were the person that left that hot tip in one of the threads here.. hmm lemme see if I can find it. Yeah, found it but that was CleverGirl, my mistake.

The reason the shaders are so nice is because it's prob a hacked unreal engine type thing on a voodoo GFX card with all the extra voodo hax for the alpha engine.

Voodoo 3dFX Glide vs Directx, Glide was so much cooler.

I know I owned a high end voodoo card b4 EQ came out and used it in one of the few games that supported the extra features. Fuck I wish I could time travel and have PC gaming take that route instead of directx

The reason directx shaders sucked was because directx had to work on everything and sub-par cards. And it was microsofts baby they kept it fucking generic so they could mass market it to everything and everyone

Aureal SuperQuad Digital PCI - I hate Creative... they are worse than those Rambus assholes. Aureal was badass and didn't deserve the horrid lawsuit Creative penned on them.

The SuperQuad is the OEM version of the SQ2500, instead of composite digital out, it has Optical digital out... and i love using my optical shit on my reciever. This card is the best piece of hardware I've ever put in any system. Its price has always been incredibly low for the value. --merritt

Also happy Friday :3 hopefully everyone has some fun planned for the weekend.
Got a nice little Saturday lined up. Gonna go to home depot, maybe even bed bath n beyond. I dont know if we'll have enough time!

I have been collecting some old video cards and sound cards. Thinking about having my 2005 X1900XTX from ATI mounted in a display case.

I got a Hercules 3D PROPHET recently, blue card. Looking for a Matrox Parhelia and one of the older VooDoo 3DFX cards.

Shit, man, it was a dark day when Nvidia used the profits, of their business arrangement with Dell, to buy 3DFX out and destroy the Glide API positing their tech as being compatible with it. That shouldve provided everyone with the guidance to invest in Nvidia at that time, but, alas, hindsight is 20/20.

shit, we couldve bought that at 1.65/share back in '99. Look at where its at now?

Funny thing is, we ALL KNEW they won the market when that shit went down back then too.

We just thought PC gaming, and the internet was going to remain in the realm of the nerds back then, and, subsequently, remain limited.

Remember when it was the ultimate taboo to speak of PC gaming in public?

Or any games really, even popular console stuff except in select circles. I have never and will never refer to myself as a "gamer".

I remember collins college commercials lol.

You might be slightly older than I am or just into it at an earlier age. I didn't own a computer until I could personally afford one. This stuff was wayyy over my head.

Personally more interested in the experience than I am the investment part of things.

I'm 1 year older than you. Ask me how I know? I was working for EA, testing video games, and tech support, at the time.
