People have realized it's a net loss for the state as it stands to punish them for 'minor' miscreancy.
It's only a net loss if you ignore the lost tax revenue from multi-million dollar businesses moving out of your city.

If you don't punish criminals for theft and also the businesses being robbed somehow magically stay in business then yeah it's probably no biggie.

How to trigger a Liberal:

<silly country song>
The singer says he doesn't like the acts of citizen in a city protesting and then says try that in a small town?

A small sphere of influence is going to make a difference.

Sounds pretty contradictory [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

What is this? Logic? How dare you. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

That's the thing, Liberals ignore reality, they deal in emotions and feelings.

Liberals: "It's ok that people are stealing goods from wealthy corporations."
Corporations: "We're leaving, we can't continue taking losses from crime."
Liberals: "That's raciss.

Lol, you just can't make this stuff up.

So what's a good threshold for theft to be a felony?

That's what they're saying with the $750 or $950 limit. Below that it's a misdemeanor.

Well no, you're talking petty larceny VS grand larceny, which yes is a matter of misdemeanor VS felony. The problem in lib hellholes like SF is that they aren't even bringing the misdemeanor charge if you steal less than $900.

Stealing less than $900 has always been a misdemeanor; the uptick in crime happened when they stopped even bothering to prosecute those cases.

The threshold should be: If we catch you stealing a toothbrush you're catching charges, as opposed to nothing happening at all. Call me old fashioned.

The more you give, the more they take.

Lol carjacking and sucker punching random people isn't "citizens in a city protesting" you idiot.

Your take is so terrible on this one I'm forced to defend some clear-channel pop country song, which is a genre I despise. Nice work.

I agree with that last part as a person but from a government perspective the cure is worse than the disease. Government revenue is a tithing of business revenue.
