Musk has described an idea for what can in simple terms be described as an "everything app"
to him, X isn't the 'modern message board' it's the foundation of what could become that everything app. Within the decade, he is going to have control over the Global-Internet-Infrastructure Verizon, AT&T, Spectrum, Cox, these companies all have to lay cables underground and under oceans, then run more cables to each and every structure. This costs billions in maintenance and upgrades. Musk is gonna be able to offer high-bandwidth satellite internet service at a fraction of the cost that any other ISP could provide. At that point, he is going to have the entire planet's data flowing through his hands. We've already seen that he can influence a full-scale war in whichever direction he desires. Imagine what he could do when the vast majority of all communications are made through his hardware, and his software. This is One Guy. His companies aren't just hobbies or cash cows, he'll have control over communication, transportation, bio-mechanical medicine, the highest level weapons grade technology (yes, that's SpaceX, not according to me, according to the DoD) and whatever else he can think of. | ||
