tired of playing on a dead server?
Play a vanilla WoW server that has 10k players when vanilla servers caped at 2500 in 2004.

By giving away the items, you are affirming the quality of the server through the assumption that the items have a value.
Deny that by simply forgetting about the gear and walking away from the accounts. It has no value, let it rot. Don't contribute to an experience that has consistently devolved into advancing gear gap at the cost of everything that once made EQ fun. PS: I would not delete the characters. That cements a memory which only acts as a reminder of EQ. If you really want to walk away, you have to consciously stop creating emotional ties. If anything, I would just delete your UI files, which will make playing again disjointed and uncomfortable.
