"XP Pots and the Fungus Covered Great Staff will NOT be tradeable." - As quoted from the P99 home page.. Perhaps I've missed something here after reading 20 pages of crybabies but how is this RMT relevant?

To begin with, they specifically said the pots WOULD be tradeable, and fungus staves are tradeable by default so it was safely assumed this one would be too. They only later changed their tune.

Besides that though, as I said before, anyone who doesn't see how this is very close to a cash shop or RMT is blind. You are paying real money in a way you are told to pay it, and then you are receiving ingame benefits because of that. It doesn't matter that the staff aren't getting the money directly; it is going where they asked you to send it. It doesn't matter if the items you receive are no drop or temporary or whatever; they are ingame stuff received for no other reason than because you paid real money in the directed way.

Whatever, I guess. It's nilbog's and rogean's show here, of course. I'm only disappointed with the delivery and the principle of this thing anymore. But for what it's worth, it sounds like quite a few folk like me will have trouble looking at the staff or this project in the same light from here on out. Hopefully the staff understand where we are coming from, unlike the retards who reply "BUT ITS JUST A FEW XP POTS BREWWWWWWW" or "BUT THE STAFF ARENT EVEN GETTING THE MONEY LOLOLOL." The universal theme from people who were anti-this was disappointment, not QQ or ragequits or flaming Pantheon or anything.

What happens if the $800k isn't hit? Say I pledge $5k and they don't reach the target? Will rewards on P99 be honored?

You know where I'm going with this one.

I understand the attitude that pledging will provide xp pots and a chance at a great staff or what have you. I dont play games that have a cash shop because it defears the purpose of playing and undermines the existing investment of players.

But I still think there's an overreaction. Theres no permanent cash shop being set up so I dont understand how one can take such a black and white view on it. Any impact this promotion has will be truly negligible.

That said, Im glad they are making these rewards non tradeable and thats the right decision imo. Will avoid a lot of drama and heartache thats for sure.

Is this some passive-aggresive way of saying "I'm wrong but refuse to concede my point. You are all wrong for backing a project we as a community would like to see take off"?
I only speak for myself but donating money to the kickstarter was to see a new game I may enjoy pop up. Not to get my gamebreaking 50% exp pots that are non tradeable.

"X"thed.

So many people whining about RMT, pay to win, etc etc. Makes me wonder, why the hell are you even playing? If you are just playing to have fun, why do you even care? The fact that this fundraiser bothers you so much is proof of some seriously misplaced priorities.

Go outside, take a deep breath, and think about why you play this FREE GD GAME.

Bunch of !@#$ing ingrates.

Because it is free of the current trend of letting people pay money for items and faster experience.
