They are both strong, but charm pets are vastly superior to summoned pets. However, summoned pets won't turn on their master every couple minutes, with possibly devastating success.

IMHO Shaman/Chanter is the cat's pajamas.

Ench/cleric is best post 60 due to CH for the pet.

If you'll never make 60 due to gamers ADD, laziness or RL circumstances...go this route.

If you WILL get 60 the above is irrelevant because you should go ench/shaman. Torpor is plenty enough healing for a pet at 60 and this is when ench/shaman become the best duo in the game.

Both charming? Heals, snare, and DS are nice. Never really seen this done myself but I haven't played either of these classes on p99.
