I tried GW2, couldn't get into it. Many people I played swtor with tried it too and they all ended up back on swtor.

My expectation going in wasn't that high though, I didn't want to get sucked into yet another mmo timesink. Was only trying it because all my friends went there.

well good thing about GW2 - you don't need to keep paying for an account - you buy it once like any casual game and you can just log in to run around and kill things whenever you feel like it, once a week or once month. I think of it as a BETTER version of Diablo 3 (which completely failed on me)

Smedley has been playing the shit out of EVE (He was in Goonswarm, I did a few fleets w/ him before we split up for goodfites). The man loves the game, and I wouldn't be surprised if he took a few pages from EVE as far as sandboxiness goes.

What do they mean by a "sandbox" game?

It basically means that there are very few limitations and that the players are free to go and do pretty much as they wish.

Give me a game that feels like Classic EQ with updated graphics and content. Is that so hard?

Sandbox = SWG. SWG was great. I hope they use some stuff from that game.

Sandbox = Darkfall. Darkfall was great but had the world's worst release. I hope they use some stuff from that game.

Yeah, if they made EQ next like SWG, it would be pretty much perfect.
