As someone who has worked with mobs of screaming children I can empathize with the staff.

I remember that fun on live*. Werewolves in WC, and East Karana became a dynamic zone.

I hate Halloween events in one particular zone. 200 people crammed into a zone trying to kill a few spawns is redonkulous. If they spread it out over the entire game it would be nice. Every mob in the game has a rare chance to drop said item. Encourage people to spread out and still have fun.
Make it completely random too. Not just difficulty of the mob either, have skeletons or bats drop the same stuff as frogs in seb only more rare. It's always nice to get useful stuff from an event no matter what level you are. Could even have mobs that drop pages and runes drop a totally different rune or page that people can take to a quest NPC and turn in for a random reward. Make them tradeable so noobs can make some cash selling them.

Or within the separate zones have particular mobs and give them a particular set of skills. After so many have been killed it indirectly triggers a raidish type mob in another zone not necessarily connected or related to the trigger spot. Make it like a hide and seek ordeal where people wouldn't know about it, but remain a mystery to see how long it would take the population to find them.
Then alongside this you could have a "trick or treat" mob, choosing treat doing something the opposite by spawning a mob that has a chance to drop something cool. While after choosing trick it could hand out an unworking guise like the april fools junk or a limited charged type illusion item. (vice versa or even additional things) They could do so much with this and the normal everyday game that just isn't done cause of their limited time/numbers on staff. Almost makes me wish they brought someone on to keep up with in game morale/events as if it were some PR type thing. It was always classic to see GM events, but maybe on here don't always yield rewards depending on the frequency of them (Cause even awesome battle sequences are reward enough as a step away from the regular). I know there have been many suggestions submitted in the past by a few people that just never got used even when it was kind of a regular thing to see happen... bring them back!

Last year’s event was so fubar. The only chance of a mask dropping was off mobs that still provided experience. Mass killing mobs at level 50 yielded hardly any masks for anyone. The masks that were dropping for the most part were off of mobs within the level 1-10 range. People were throwing on high level weapons, one-two shooting mobs with low HP, and outfitting up and coming alts with masks. Was a waste of time and poorly implemented.
