And I quit EQ to play WoW, and got to a point where WoW had to quit me instead of me quit WoW. Be polite and civil in the general channels and you will be helped. Several of my new characters were blessed with platinum just for being genuine and honest in public channels.

Ignore the forums. The PvP server + anonymity attracts the dregs. Do not let a vocal hyperminority lead you astray.
