Just a side note. You're going to see tons of posts tonight about how the pop is sitting around 120 and therefore the patch saved the day. DO NOT BE FOOLED NEW COMERS. This server ALWAYS hits 100+ when raid mobs are up because nihilum dials the bat phone and has about ~50 members online. This will be even more true tonight when they bring the bored nihilum members back for Hate. Can't wait to see 60 nihilum members in hate.

This is not a PvP fun server. It is emulating the classic monotonous hell of a grind with PvP turned on.

Thats why its failing. EQ classic was horrible. You play video games to have fun, last time I checked Everquest was a game not life. Seems like your immersion level is high, go outside more.

Server needs faster XP and a resist system fixed for melees to thrive. Get real.

Then why are you on EQ classic? The server has CLASSIC splattered all over it, you act as if you were tricked into coming here or something.

I have fun on video games I can play over a long period of time and have something to work towards, that's why I came here. You want to play for 20 minutes and get something for it, that's awesome, but this isn't where to do it.

Casuals have robbed hardcore gamers time and time again in the modern day market, I'm fine with that. Have your stupid Diablo 3 and your Modern Warfare 10290492. Leave my games alone, if I want to poopsock for the rest of my life in my mothers basement living on ramen, or whatever insult you were about to use, it's my business and my business only.

Listen, I can't fault Rogean for patching. Thank you. But if you're asking me what is going to "save' the server, aka bring NEW players in not bored nihilum PVEers from blue, or the hardcore PVPers who all quit, it's not Plane of Hate and Sol Ro Temple. It was resist fixes which pissed off all the hardcore PVPers because skill is negated when you can be rooted with 300 MR, and EXP rates / hybrid penalty which kills groups and new comers.

Bull. It wasn't the resist problems that alienated new players. It was the lack of guard assist and the constant ganks by so-called "hardcore PvP'ers" that wouldn't even let them bank. They realized that wasn't what they wanted and left.

I can name about 20 things right now, that are not classic. Yes it has a classic feel, and thats all great. If verant left classic to just classic and not fixed anything at all to get more players playing there then EQ would not of been a hit like it was, It would of died down like P99 is.

This is a EMU server. God forbid something happens to rogean, server is done. If it crashes or he just pulls the plug, its done. This isnt live, its now a days, people are older, but a strong fan of the everquest game. Lets have some fun, since p99 can do whatever the hell they want. Make IT FUN and population will come back. Im not talking macroquest and instant 50 but this current system needs to be tweaked big time, rules in a pvp server are way different for a reason. good luck poopsocking in your moms basement for a emu account.

Yeah it's not 100% classic, because they are taking a buggy ass blank slate of a server and trying to make it close to classic, it's never going to be classic again but this is as close as it gets and I would like it to stay that way.

Now you're saying since it's a private server it's not worth anything, because it will all be over one day? That's true of every single game that is out right now. With that mind set, what is the point of playing any game? It's all just pixels that will be deleted eventually, no matter which game it is, emu or not. The point is you play cause you want to have fun, I like to be able to put some time into my games and actually continually see progress. Instead of going to the same 10 maps shooting at terrorists to get the same gun that has been on FPS games since 2000. The former, for me, is fun. The latter, (from what I am gathering) seems to be fun to you. There are EZ servers made for the exact reasons you post. There are classic emus made for the reasons I post, why do you have to have the whole gaming world under the reign of the "casual-everyone-gets-a-trophy" empire that plagues gaming today? Can't there be any bastions for hardcore players?
