Did PoF increase population? No. Did xp bonus? Not after a month. Did PoH, SolRo, or global ooc increase population? Nope. Population is less than it was a month ago. EQ was a great game, and still is in a lot of ways. 13 years later, content in EQ is more interesting and difficult than content in a current MMO. The problem with a red server is that the life and feel of the game is entirely in the community, and it requires a lot of individual effort to foster a large and competitive community. You need a diverse array of guilds with some very dedicated people to keep them going, and that just won't happen with the average age of this player base. The EQ community just naturally devolved. Select against the people with careers, families, or other priorities in favor of ~30 year olds who need RMT to keep the Mt. Dew flowing and this is what you get. R99 has been great for bringing back some memories, but when your "endgame" choice comes down to either investing time in someone else's RMT scam or joining a bunch of semi-lucid, racist megalomaniacs, it's probably just time to log out. This is a tangent, but if you really want to see population growth, get to the core of the problem and relaunch with 4 or 5 teams. Code in some of the community and don't just leave it up to the "adept guidance" of the forum trolls. P.S. And get rid of the garbage resist system. | |||
