Should be left in, as should being able to see pet buffs imo. Look either this server is trying to be as classic as possible or its not. Not everything about classic was good and there are some things which make the server better without being classic. For example, linking items.

How can you justify taking out this feature but leaving global ooc in? Or linking items? As stated above, this isn't a classic breaking feature, it is just nice and helpful.

For the sake of argument, I filed the following two bugs:

Game Mechanics: Players buffing NPCs

Game Mechanics: Giving items and equipment to NPCs and mobs

Both of these issues come with significant customer service costs, but they are technically classic. Will we see fixes for them?

I'm very neutral on this issue, but I'm curious what we're shooting for in terms of mixing up old features with classic features.

Hmm.. If you are speaking of guards and such.. and can't do that.. then maybe thats an issue.. But if you are speaking of the newbie kill mobs like bats, you had to charm them before giving them buffs/items, which I believe is doable.

That can be argued as well. Turning off item links might re-simulate the east commons auction area (or some area, doesn't have to be the tunnel). If people don't have global auction, or item links, they are brought together.

I don't think linking items makes the server "better". It just makes auctioning more convenient. You don't need to memorize the stats of items, and you don't have to shop.

I've stated this before, but I'm an advocate of the removal of global chat as well.

People were forced to gather in EC to trade, socialize, and lfg because there was no global ooc.

It would be refreshing to see a huge number of people collecting in one zone and having a ball ala golden era of eq. Right now, everyone is spread throughout norrath and trades and wham bam thank you mam.

Classic only allowed you to be rezzed with experience for the first 2 hours, later extended to 3 hours.
