Perun (in-game name) is awesome at drawing up personal maps of in-game zones for people to use.

Add Perun to your friendlist
keep checking for him

then when you see him online, just shoot him a friendly tell stating which zone you want a map of and how detailed you want it and what relevant info you want. Try not to ask for too many maps at once, i think 2 is the max and should take him about 2-3days.

I always bind my sense heading to my left and right arrow keys, so I can't even move much without working on it. In just a few levels, I have it maxed out and I can remove them.

(I also bind forage to a commonly used key, so I don't have to always think about that as I am running along)

There is a collection of maps in the Project1999 wiki already http://wiki.project1999.org -- Perun's artistry could certainly enhance the existing maps and would be available to the community at large rather than individuals as you suggest.

That would be up to Perun himself. If you asked him nicely, he may be willing to do some custom drawings for the p99 community at large.
