A cold turkey sandwich could beat Obama in the general. However, the GOP won't run a cold turkey sandwich, instead opting for one of the three douche nozzles polled by the op. Therefore, Obama wins.

let me put it this way, i'd be shocked if romney wasn't the president after the coming election. not that i'm endorsing a slimy mormon like him.

the media's affair with gingrich is only there because they're bored of talking about romney. he has some seriously long odds to overcome if he wants to beat romney. and romney himself is a perfect shoe-in for this general... since he seems to be capable of breathing.

ron paul would be a lot of fun and i would vote for him just to stir things up but i doubt he's going to ever be able to win a primary, i mean on some issues like foreign policy and invasion of privacy he's just way out in left field for the republican party who generally supports a police state unless it comes to the economy.

I think there are Republicans who can beat Obama, but they aren't in the race. I don't think the true top tier of the GOP is running this time because they don't want to be the Kerry or Dole of 2012.

As low as Obama's numbers are currently, he is still doing better than any of the Republican candidates, but he almost always loses to the 'generic republican.' This crop of GOP candidates won't be able to take back the White House, though I do believe they'll capture the Senate and probably hold the house, but with some losses.

Yeah well I'll take an imaginary republican any day. But the real ones are are just fucked up in the head.

other than being a plate-worshipping mormon, romney is literally the most generic republican candidate ever. it's possible that discrimination over his religion will cost him the race but i really doubt it.

Republicans don't vote for generic republicans. Otherwise, Obama would have won all 50 states.

non sequitur.... no candidate has, or likely ever will, win all 50 states... what are we arguing about again?

it would take a miracle for obabo to get reelected.

This alone shows how laughably uninformed you are. The only GOP candidate with a snowball's chance in hell of winning the general election is Huntsman, and he's far too moderate and well spoken to win the GOP primary.
