Your second set of numbers are in line with the back stab equations for theoretical raw damage prior to AC being taken into account.

((Offense + (Str up to 200) + (str over 200 / 5)) * WepDmg * Mult) / 100

If you had, for example, 200 strength, and a 13 dmg weapon:

((215 + 200) * 13 * (2 + (203 * 0.02))) / 100 = 326.93700

AC calculations were broken in the past and now it is applying the correct damage reduction. The con of the mob does not negate the fact that it still has a set AC.
Understandable.

However, I don't think a 60% reduction in melee damage is necessary, when the max classic backstab is 301 and you're only nailing a maximum of 96 when the target is standing that is a major damage inhibited to dual-wield classes that rely on special skills.

Backstab really shouldn't have a large penalty given that you have to be behind your opponent to actually land the hit. AC reductions should be cut down by 3/4's when attacking a target from behind because that would be the the greatest point of contact.

"behind".. although this maybe be low for backstabs you dont want decent rogues out jousting the best warriors on server.

Why not? Jousting just isn't swing hit swing hit. Plus, "best" is a relative word. Also, a proper played rogue can beat most warriors due to the quad + backstab doing more damage then a double hit 2hander.

The difference between the two are HP/AC. That is what should make or break the right. Rogue's dps equates them to a warriors HP.

I was a dwarf rogue, with a 9 dmg MH - with str buff I was doing 190 dmg backstabs, really shouldn't be any higher imo.
