My characters name is Foxhound. I'm in EC right now. Almost level 6.

Are there any guilds recruiting beginners right now?

There are many 'beginner' or more casual guilds around...generally groups of folks just leveling their first characters.

I see a lot of lower folks running around with the Nightmare tag....maybe talk to one of them? Otherwise just group a lot and someone is bound to invite you if you're untagged and decent at your class.

My experience with Nightmare is that they're either ninjas (grouped with a halfling druid that looted every corpse before it even hit the ground) or don't understand every concept of the game (which is fine) and then flame you when you disregard their bad advice (not fine).

Therefore, I wouldn't recommend them.

I wanted to ask about that, actually. I'm looking pretty hardcore in Orc 1 parties in EC at the moment. Nobody seems to care because most of them are twinks who can't be bothered with the pittance that the orcs drop, but when am I going to get to groups that are either:

A. Organized in their loot rules (have a designated looter, do rolls for specific loot, or take turns).
B. Kick players for being ninjas.

I'm doing it right now because nobody seems to care and I'm poor as dirt, but I don't want it to leave a black mark on my name.

I had an unpleasant experience with a <Nightmare> member today.

Lazy SHM who apparently didn't like healing just ninja quit a group without saying shit then logged.

Didn't even pretend to LD by /q'ing.

a. not until you're 40+, loot is generally considered trivial until gems (that sell for more than 50p each), and then it's generally alpha. but everything that isn't a gem, a valued item, or an upgrade is treated as ffa.

b. ninjas would probably be petitioned and moderated if they tried to ninja anything important like an item that sells for more than a few grand but anything less than that people don't even give a shit tbh, they just want experience.

Looks like it starts now. Got kicked from an Orc 1 group for looting and selling too often.

Ah well, lesson learned. I didn't take it personally; their reasons were good.

selling during exp groups is something completely different, and yeah i would get pissed off too. my main purpose in an exp group is to get experience, anything else is secondary. if people are running off and selling that's retarded.
