As far as xp deaths, this is why I'm in favor of player policing. As a former PK myself, it was common for someone to announce me in the zone once detected. That alone was a buzz kill. Furthermore, if I went into somewhere like Highkeep? People would drop what they were doing, see invis up and come out with their pitch forks and torches.

Uh for a while I was a very destructive youth on "teh EQz". But I learned the errors of my ways and got involved with pvp that mattered, aka contesting raid spawns, not ganking people for loot I could farm myself. Good luck shedding a bad rep as a griefer, took me a name change and a whole lot of digging into a reasonably feared pvp/raid guild to get through it. I still never lived down the DB/PB names in the end but it was fun.

Guessing about 300-400 to start. After a month or so it will be about 100-200. There is no boxing so plus you will have people leaving because of griefing etc.

Depends on how hard people are trying to grief people off the server I guess.

You know, I do remember being told I couldn't come bother someone for a while after I killed/made them plug a few times on my rogue twink. I was told something to the effect of "I've seen you attack so and so 'X' times in the past few hours". So I stopped, no warning or anything.

PS: couldn't imagine playing that character with no item loot lol.

This. It will make or break your server. If you all act like a bunch of asshats and grief people off the server, you'll be sitting here in two weeks trying to think up ways to lure more "fresh meat" to Red99 because there's only 50 of you left.

Identify the griefers early, condemn them as a threat to the livelihood of the server, and go after them en force to make sure that sociopathic behavior doesn't propagate on Red99, and you might stand a chance to build a healthy community that can enjoy PVP.

I honestly think the ruleset of XP deaths is going to keep the population low. That and the griefing. I love PvP but I really can't do the the massive amount of time classic XP, while PvPing and with XP loss would take.

Also I kind of feel XP death deters PvP, but that is just my thought.

It's a shame because it looks like a good amount of work went in to make this a better Emu PvP experience.
