You should have no problem buying a similar or better system brand new for $450. I would not recommend buying that system.

The shop that I purchase my systems for, buy's old systems and sells refurbs, they would sell this system for around 250. No way in hell would I pay 450 for a 3 year old laptop.

(edit) unless it was a damn good system worth the money.

so should i just spend like 180 on somthin that can play eq, i just need a laptop and im kinda scared of ebay tbh

no dude that was won of the worst models gateway ever made, stay far away. the motherboards are shit and fail all the time.

Personally I would not go with a laptop, but if you have to I would look into a new PC, for $450 that has a better CPU. I do believe you could get yourself into a i5 processor laptop for about that price easy.

Here are a few options:
i5 for $450
i5 for $480

Those 2 are fairly cheap considering and have comparable specifications.
