Food for thought, but when I setup corporate networks I have any executable kill itself that isn't part of the whitelist that's been setup. If it's tried to access the net or any part of the network a report is printed and then the executable dies.
That said this doesn't seem to be the case here, with EQ all you'd get is an error msg saying connection failure or access denied. I'd suggest putting the files on a USB stick or burning at a very slow speed (making sure that everything fits onto the cd, because EQ titanium won't fit onto a single cd..). Would imagine if you have access to a cd drive USB ports would probably not be disabled either.

I would highly imagine that if you're using another companies net connection on your laptop you shouldn't have any problem running whatever you like. I've never used Citrix but I know what it is & how it works and would imagine the network guys on the Citrix end of the connection can't monitor what you're running in the background. If anyone could it'd be the guys whose internet connection you're using.

your best option would be to run a vpn client that can run behind your firewall

You can VPN into your home network and run it from there if you look into it. =)

have you tried re downloading it (if you can download torrents at work, which you might not be able to) FROM your work? perhaps the burn isnt working for whatever reason.
also, make sure that the target in the shortcut is correct in where your directory is.
